Becoming a parent is not easy, you sleep less, you are more stressed and less free time. Being overweight is not desirable, especially as you've probably taken a few kilos. In 2009, a British study found that a man takes an average of six kilograms during pregnancy of his wife. This phenomenon is sometimes called the "couvade syndrome", when the human body copy that of the woman. "Conclusive studies have shown that a father increases the risks of being overweight or obese with each new child," says Will Courtenay, a psychotherapist and author specializing in men's issues, California.
