McDonald's, the worst hamburger according to a survey 

  The largest fast food chain in the United States (and the world), McDonald's produced the worst burger ever. This at least is the opinion of 32,405 readers of the U.S. magazine Consumer Protection Consumer Report, surveyed about their tastes in fast food.

  The survey results, announced on Wednesday, 65 relate to American fast-food chains offering 96,208 different products.

  The magazine asked its subscribers to evaluate the taste on a scale of 1 to 10 (the worst in the most delicious) meals offered by American chains. The burger was the most frequently cited menu.

  In descending order, here are the 10 worst hamburger chains: McDonald's, Jack in the Box, Burger King, Krystal, A & W, Sonic, Checker's Drive-In, Wendy's, White Castel, Carl's Jr.

   "Clean McDonald's customers have rated hamburgers significantly worse than 20 of its competitors," says Consumer Reports.

  In contrast, The Habit Burger Grill, In-N-Out Burger and Five Guys Burgers and Fries received the best compliments of hamburger lovers.

  The worst chicken chain, according to the survey, is KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken). The favorite: Chick-fil-A.

  Side sandwiches and subs, the most criticized chains are Au Bon Pain, Subway and Arby's. Popular: Portillo's Hot Dogs, Firehouse Subs and Schlotzsky's.

Finally, Taco Bell is the most hated chains burritos; Chipotle Mexican Grill, the most praised.


  The magazine states that small chains that focus on quality (especially breakfast), with higher prices, have the highest scores of readers: Chipotle Mexican Grill, Firehouse Subs, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Jason's Deli, Jersey Mike's Subs Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches, McAlister's Deli, Panera Bread and Schlotzsky's.
