Donald Trump takes off in the polls for the Republican primaries

Donald Trump takes off in the polls for the Republican primaries  Donald Trump, entangled in a controversy over his remarks about illegal Mexican and Senator John McCain, has strongly consolidated its position at the head of the race for the Republican nomination for the White House, according to a survey released Monday.

The real estate mogul is the favorite of 24% of Republican voters surveyed in a poll published by the Washington Post and ABC News, the highest score achieved by a candidate this year, far ahead of its rivals Scott Walker (13%) and Jeb Bush (12%).

But the survey was conducted from Thursday to Sunday, and the Post states that the majority of respondents were before the declarations of Donald Trump against John McCain on Saturday. The popularity of Donald Trump has fallen sharply among those surveyed after this latest incident, the newspaper said.
